Meet the Handcrafted Serving Boards Behind That Grazing Table

Behind the Boards

There are pieces in your home that quietly become part of how you host. You may not pull them out every day, but the moment people come over, you reach for them without thinking.

Wine nights on the patio. Girls nights that turn into three bottles in. Holidays. The casual come over for a bit afternoons that somehow stretch into dinner. After years of building charcuterie boards and grazing tables for clients and friends, I kept searching for serving pieces that felt elevated without feeling precious. Substantial. Beautiful enough to leave on the counter. Functional enough to actually use.

Eventually I stopped looking and started making them. Each piece is cut, beveled, finished, and cork backed by hand in small batches in our Las Vegas studio, and shipped nationwide.

This is a closer look at the three boards in the current collection, where the materials come from, and how to choose the right one for the way you actually host.

The current collection: Aleutian marble, Cortina & Verona Italian porcelain.

Meet the Collection

The names were not chosen at random. Each board is named for the place its marble or porcelain was inspired by. Because every piece is handcrafted from natural stone or Italian porcelain in small batches, no two are exactly alike, and the collection naturally shifts over time.

Aleutian · Natural Marble

Crafted from natural marble with soft movement and organic veining inspired by the Aleutian Islands. Marble naturally stays cool, which makes it ideal for cheeses, butter boards, and slower entertaining where food sits out longer. Every Aleutian board has its own pattern of veining, which is part of what makes natural stone feel timeless instead of mass produced.

Cortina · Italian Porcelain

Crafted from Italian porcelain inspired by Cortina d’Ampezzo in Northern Italy. The cool gray tones and subtle stone movement give it a refined, neutral feel that works with almost any palette. Porcelain is durable, surprisingly lightweight for its size, and cleans up easily after cheeses, desserts, or weeknight appetizers.

Verona · Italian Porcelain

Crafted from Italian porcelain inspired by Verona. The soft sage tones and warm movement shift throughout the day depending on the light. It feels a little unexpected and is perfectly suited for spring brunches, summer entertaining, and pool day spreads.

Why Small Batch Matters

Stone and porcelain have personalities of their own. Slabs become unavailable. New materials appear. Sometimes a piece of stone shows up that immediately sparks an idea I cannot stop thinking about. Because these boards are handcrafted in small batches, the collection will naturally evolve. Some pieces may stay for years. Others will quietly retire to make room for something new. It makes each board feel more like a collected piece than something endlessly reproduced.

Why Marble and Porcelain Instead of Wood?

Different materials do different things well, and the right one depends on how you host.

Wood brings warmth and a classic feel. Beautiful, but it can scratch, stain, and absorb odors over time.

Marble naturally stays cooler, which makes it ideal for cheeses, butter, and slower entertaining where food sits out longer.

Italian porcelain is durable, scratch resistant, refined, and incredibly easy to clean. It wipes back to brand new.

I designed this collection around marble and porcelain because I wanted pieces substantial enough to feel elevated, easy enough to clean to actually use often, and beautiful enough to leave out between gatherings.

Designed for the Way You Actually Host

Entertaining looks different for everyone. Long pool days. Backyards at golden hour. Bunco nights and book clubs. Open houses with real estate clients. Bridal showers in the kitchen. Last minute charcuterie when friends come over to watch the game.

Each board in the collection was made with those rhythms in mind. Substantial enough to anchor a spread. Light enough to carry from kitchen to patio. Refined enough to gift to a top client, a closing customer, or a host who notices every detail.

Every piece is handcrafted in our Las Vegas studio and ships nationwide, so wherever you host, the boards travel with you.

Charcuterie Board Questions, Answered

What makes a good charcuterie board for entertaining?

A great charcuterie board is durable, easy to clean, large enough to style food naturally, and beautiful enough to leave out between gatherings. The best ones become part of your hosting rhythm because you actually reach for them without thinking. Marble, Italian porcelain, and quality hardwoods all work well. The right material depends on what you serve most and how you store it.

What is the best material for a charcuterie board?

Each material has its place. Marble naturally stays cool, which is ideal for cheeses, butter boards, and warmer climates. Italian porcelain is durable, refined, and the easiest to clean. Wood brings warmth and a classic feel but requires more care to prevent staining and odor absorption. If you entertain often and want something low maintenance, porcelain is hard to beat. If you serve cheese plates regularly, marble is a beautiful choice.

What size charcuterie board do I need?

The right size depends on how you host. Boards around 6 x 8 inches are ideal for butter boards, desserts, or appetizers for one to two people. Boards around 7.5 to 8 by 13.5 to 14 inches are the most versatile size and work for charcuterie, desserts, and everyday hosting. Larger boards are best for grazing style spreads and bigger gatherings. Because each marble and porcelain piece is handcrafted, slight variation in dimensions is normal and part of what makes every board unique.

How many people does a medium charcuterie board serve?

A board in the 7.5 to 8 by 13.5 to 14 inch range typically serves around two to six people, depending on whether you are putting out appetizers, desserts, brunch, or building one piece of a larger spread.

Are handcrafted marble and porcelain boards safe for food?

Yes. Natural marble and food safe Italian porcelain are both excellent surfaces for serving cheese, charcuterie, fruit, bread, and desserts. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, dishwashers, and dropping on hard surfaces.

Where are That Grazing Table boards made?

Every board is handcrafted in Las Vegas, Nevada, in small batches. Each piece is cut, beveled, sanded, branded, and cork backed by hand. Because the materials are natural marble and Italian porcelain, every board has its own veining, movement, and personality.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes. That Grazing Table handcrafted boards and signature gift sets ship across the United States. Every piece is carefully packaged to protect the natural marble and Italian porcelain in transit.

Do you offer corporate gifting and bulk orders?

Yes. Handcrafted boards and signature gift sets are available for real estate closing gifts, financial advisor client appreciation, corporate holiday gifting, and VIP gifts. Browse the gift set collection or reach out directly to talk through volume orders.
